My Glamping Wishlist

I can (and often do) spend hours searching the internet for inspiration. Anything from a new teapot to trailers to put all my gear in. Here is a small compilation of my 'wishlist' some things I really NEED to get, others I like but they aren't essential. Over the next few weeks/months I'll probably do a few DIY tutes on how to make/get some of these wishlist items for less so watch this space......

Sheep Skin Rug - SkyeSykns

No Glamping pad would be complete without one of these. Add some class and comfort. I particularly love the mosaics available here but and real sheepskin rug would have the same affect for a quarter of the price!!






Rainbow Striped Windbreak - Pearl&Earl

This windbreak is great value for money and gorgeous at the same time. Great for adding a little privacy to the entrance of your tent.









Queen-sized Airbed - Camping With Soul

This airbed is the best quality and value for money on the market (in my opinion). Some great features including adjustable firmness whilst you're lying in bed!





Double Multi-coloured tealight chandelier - Camping with Soul





Looks great during the day, but light it up at night and this is absolutely blimin' stunning. I dont think this needs any other words the picture speaks for itself





Wire&Glass hanging tealight holder - Nordic House

No camping trip can ever have enough lights, whether they be solar-powered or electric, but my favourite source is candle light, the glow is so soft and nothing beats staying up with a jug of Pimms and chatting by candle light.







Hanging Bottle Shaped Tealight Holder - Candles Crafts Gifts

Couple these with some rustic shepherd's crooks and you'll have yourself a classy looking space by day or by night.










Tea Cosy 'The Tea Bus' - Not On the Highstreet

Glamping is founded in 'a home away from home' or 'Camping Comforts' for me this is my morning cup of tea (or 2) from a pot. I think you'll agree with me that this stunning cosy is perfect, especially if you have the luxury of a campervan!

What makes camping glamping?

The term 'glamping' derives from the words glamour and camping. I don't think it needs any more description than that (do let me know if you do though!) That explains the theory, but what does that mean in practise? Each person could interpret this completely differently so please don't take this as gospel. To me, glamping is camping with home comforts, pretty accessories and great food. By home comforts I mean a BIG bed, my own duvet and pillows, carpet/floor covering, a proper mug for my morning cuppa and last but not least a tea pot. I know people that take this to a whole other level think television, freeview box, hair straighteners, hair dryer, laptop etc etc. I'm not there yet and to be honest I dont think I ever will be. I'm a self confessed tele addict but you just cant beat being a field and having to use your imagination on ways to amuse yourself.
I'm in the process of airing/washing/cleaning most of my pretty accessories so a whole post dedicated to them will follow over the next few days but here's a little taster of my goodies.

First up is my beautiful tent. The children have named her 'Betsy'. She is a 5m SoulPad . I chose this tent a) because it looks fabulous b) because it's large enough for us all when we go away and c) because it only takes me 20mins to put up by myself meaning I can take the kids away by myself!! I'm sorry there are no better or even other pictures but I promise there will be a pic spam soon and you'll all have had enough of looking at Betsy!

You cannot beat granny squares when it comes to glamping, there's so stylish but add a bit of a vintage look too. This is a cushion I made out of scraps of yarn I found in my cupboard. For anyone intersted it is Style Craft Dk which are leftovers from my 'Lucy' Pack from Masons. For those of you that love crochet and need some inspiration for projects then the Lucy that this pack is based upon has her own blog Attic24

A dodgy pic of my second cushion cover underway. I really need to order me another pack of stylecraft as I'm determined to make myself (another) granny-stripe blanket for camping (from the attic24 blog) I made one at the beginning of this year but gave it away to a friend.

This is my glamping pride and joy. It was given to me last year by a neighbour whose mother-in-law had made it for her, but she didn't like it. She came round for a cuppa and saw alot of my little homemade touches and said did i want it? I cannpt tell you how much self-restraint I showed in not literally biting her hand off. Isn't it just the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?? Currently airing on the line due to it's feather stuffing!

So that's just a few of my pretty accessories but I promise to show more soon, along with recipes for great (and easy) food. Until then i've still Gone (to prepare for!) Glamping

Glamping fail!

So, every camping trip is always a learning curve. Regardless of how many lists you write, how many times you re-pack the car there is always something you forget and this time I failed EPICLY!! I forgot the camera AND my iphone charger meaning I had no way of taking any pictures of my glamping chic. There was bunting, vintage bedspreads, homemade crochet cushions, a teapot with handmade cosy, an absolutely gorgeous chic wooden storage chest and so much more that words would never do them justice. Instead I will be going glamping later this month and I will be snap happy. In the meantime I'll be posting about some of the individual elements that I adore (mainly the aforementioned!!)
